Julian Grape Stomp Festa: Every September the Julian Chamber of Commerce celebrates the harvest of the grapes with a real, olde-world style grape stomp and festa at the Menghini Winery. This grape stomp out-does all others by providing two barrels for stomping--one for adults and one for children. Tons of grapes are blessed then poured into the barrels. The atmosphere is created by Italian music by Roman Holiday, dancing, Bocci Ball competitions, stomping, wine tasting, a Jumbo Jump for the kids and a variety of food and crafts for sale will keep you busy. FREE FISHING DAY: While all fishing regulations, such as bag and size limits, gear restrictions, fishing hours and stream closures remain in effect; there are two Saturdays each year where anyone can fish without purchasing a fishing license. 16th Annual San Diego Festival of Beer: This year's Sixteenth annual Festival of Beer will take over the streets at Columbia and B once more to bring you a fun-filled evening with a goal of 6,000 beer lovers like yourself enjoying the sounds of live music while sampling from seventy five different breweries. The admission price includes ten (4oz.) beer tastings. Inside the SDFoB there are food and munchies for sale in addition to a selection of fine wines for purchase by the glass. Grape Day Festival and Parade: The Grape Day Festival and Parade has deep roots in Escondido as a free community celebration of its heritage. Started in 1908, it is Escondido's oldest and longest running event. Parade features equestrian, floats, marching bands and walking groups.
